How to download Snapchat Spotlight videos

Spotlight is Snapchat’s public feed of short videos. Here’s how to save one as an ordinary MP4.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Copy the Spotlight link

On the Spotlight video, tap Share, then Copy link. It looks like snapchat.com/spotlight/….

  2. 2

    Paste it into FetchBolt

Open the Snapchat video downloader and paste the link into the box.

  3. 3

    Download the MP4

Tap Download. The video saves in the quality it was posted in, usually 720p or 1080p vertical.

What can’t be downloaded

Snaps sent to you and private Stories aren’t public and have no link, so they can’t be downloaded. Only Spotlight videos and public Stories with a link work.

Where the file goes

On iPhone, Safari saves it to Downloads in Files; use Share, then Save Video to add it to Photos. On Android it lands in Downloads and your gallery.

The tool for the job

Everything above uses the Snapchat Video Downloader. MP4 in the quality it was posted in, usually 720p or 1080p vertical, and the audio as MP3.
