How to download Twitter (X) videos on Android

Save videos and GIFs from public X posts to your Android phone, in the quality you choose.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Copy the post’s link

Tap the share icon on the post, then Copy link. x.com and twitter.com links both work.

  2. 2

Paste it into FetchBolt in Chrome

Open the Twitter video downloader in Chrome (or any browser) and paste the link.

  3. 3

    Pick a quality and download

X offers several versions, often 1080p, 720p and 480p. Tap Download on the one you want; it goes to Downloads and your gallery.

GIFs download as MP4

X turns GIFs into short videos, so they save as small MP4s. Most players and gallery apps loop them just like a GIF.

Sharpest or smallest

Every version X stores is listed with its resolution, so you can pick the sharpest for watching or the smallest to save data and space.

The tool for the job

Everything above uses the X (Twitter) Video Downloader. MP4 in each quality X provides (often 1080p, 720p and 480p). GIFs download as small looping MP4s.
