How to convert YouTube to MP3 on Android

Turn any public YouTube video, podcast or lecture into an MP3 on your Android phone, using only Chrome.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Copy the video’s link

In the YouTube or YouTube Music app, tap Share, then Copy link.

  2. 2

Paste it into FetchBolt in Chrome

Open the YouTube to MP3 page in Chrome (or any browser), tap the box and paste the link.

  3. 3

    Pick a bitrate and download

Choose 320, 192 or 128 kbps and tap Download. The MP3 goes to your Downloads folder.

Which bitrate to choose

320 kbps sounds best for music, 192 kbps is a good balance, and 128 kbps keeps podcasts and talks small. For the purest copy, pick M4A: it is YouTube’s original audio, untouched.

Finding the file

Open the Files app (or Files by Google) and go to Downloads. Music players such as YouTube Music, VLC or Poweramp pick it up from there.

The tool for the job

Everything above uses the YouTube to MP3. MP3 at 320, 192 or 128 kbps, or the original M4A audio with no re-encoding.
