How to download YouTube videos on Android

Save any public YouTube video to your Android phone in HD, straight from Chrome. It lands in your gallery, ready to watch offline.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Copy the video’s link

In the YouTube app, tap Share under the video, then Copy link.

  2. 2

Paste it into FetchBolt in Chrome

Open the YouTube downloader in Chrome (or any browser), tap the box and paste the link.

  3. 3

    Download the MP4

Tap Download next to 1080p, or 720p to save space. The file goes to your Downloads folder and shows up in your gallery.

Why not YouTube’s own download button?

Videos saved with YouTube’s download button stay locked inside the YouTube app. FetchBolt gives you an ordinary MP4 you can watch in any player, share or edit.

HD with sound

Above 720p, YouTube sends video and sound separately. FetchBolt joins them into one MP4, so 1080p downloads keep their sound.

The tool for the job

Everything above uses the YouTube Video Downloader. MP4 video with sound in every quality the video was uploaded in (up to 2160p), or the soundtrack alone as MP3 or M4A.
