How to download Snapchat videos
- Step 1
Copy the link
On the Spotlight video, tap Share (the arrow), then Copy link. The link looks like snapchat.com/spotlight/….
- Step 2
Paste it above
Paste the link in the box at the top of this page and press Download. FetchBolt finds the video and its formats.

Pick a quality and tap Download. The file saves to your device.
What you get
MP4 in the quality it was posted in, usually 720p or 1080p vertical, and the audio as MP3.
Spotlight is Snapchat’s public feed of short videos, and each one has a link anyone can open. FetchBolt saves the video behind that link as an ordinary MP4.
Snaps sent to you and private Stories aren’t public and never have a link, so they can’t be downloaded.
Save it on any device
iPhone and iPad
Open FetchBolt in Safari, paste the Snapchat link and tap Download. The MP4 saves to Files → Downloads; tap it, then Share → Save Video to put it in Photos.

Paste the link in Chrome or any browser and tap Download. The MP4 lands in Downloads and shows up in your gallery automatically.

Copy the link from the address bar or Share button and paste it above. The MP4 saves to your Downloads folder in any browser, with nothing to install.
Troubleshooting and safety
The download doesn’t work. What can I do?
Check that the video plays for everyone: private posts, age-restricted content and anything that needs you to sign in can’t be downloaded, and FetchBolt tells you if a video was removed or is region-locked. Copy the link with the app’s Share button and paste it on its own. If Snapchat is limiting traffic for a moment, wait a minute and try again. Large files take longer to prepare, and the button shows the progress while they do.
Is FetchBolt safe to use?
FetchBolt runs in your browser: no app, no extension and no sign-up, and it never asks for your Snapchat password. Files are prepared on our servers only for as long as it takes to send them to you, then deleted, and we don’t keep a history of your links. The only buttons that download anything are the ones in the FetchBolt card, next to each quality.
